【摘要】:Theshearstrengthbetweensegmentalconcreteunits(withandwithoutgeosyntheticreinforcement)andisusedindesignofreinforcedsoilretainingwalls.Thistestisusedtodeterminetheshearstrengthforthedesignofthefacingstabilityofsegmentalretainingwalls.Performingaseriesofthesesheartestsatvaryingnormalloadspermitsdevelopmentofarelationshipbetweenshearstrengthandnormalload.Thisrelationshipmaybelinear,bi-linear,orsomeothercomplexmathematicalexpression.Thisshearstrengthtestismeanttobeaperformancetest(laboratoryorfield),therefore,itshouldbeconductedusingfull-scalesystemcomponents.Theconditionsforthetestareselectedbytheuserandarenotforroutinetesting.Asaperformancetestonfull-scalesystemcomponentsitaccountsforsomeofthevariablesinconstructionproceduresandmaterialstolerancenormallypresentforthesetypesofretainingwallsystems.1.1Thistestmethodisusedtodeterminetheshearstrengthbetweentwolayersofsegmentalconcreteblockunitsusedinconstructionofreinforcedsoilretainingwalls.Thetestiscarriedoutunderconditionsdeterminedbytheuserthatreproducethefacingsystematfull-scale.Theresultsofaseriesoftestsareusedtodefinearelationshipbetweenshearstrengthdevelopedbetweensegmentalconcreteunitsandnormalload.1.2Thisisaperformancetestusedtodeterminepropertiesfordesignofretainingwallsystemsutilizingsegmentalconcreteunitsandsoilreinforcinggeosynthetics,eithergeotextilesorgeogrids.Thetestisperformedonafull-scaleconstructionofthefacingsystemandmayberuninalaboratoryorthefield.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsareregardedasthestandard.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsareprovidedforinformationonly.Thisstandardmayinvolvehazardousmaterials,operations,andequipment.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
